*Please note a small service fee applies.
I am a "fee for service" provider and do not accept insurance plans or
discount programs of any kind. This is for a number of reasons:
1) You get to choose which problems/issues you want to work with, without
fear of being denied.
2) We get to choose the style/methods of therapy that work best for you.
3) You get to decide how often you'd like to schedule sessions.
4) The sensitive information that we discuss remains strictly confidential
and privileged*.
With reimbursement through managed care (your insurance company)
there comes a certain amount of risk in regards to your confidentiality and
privacy. This, many times, can negatively effect your capacity to obtain
health or life insurance in the future, as insurance companies require your
therapist to justify therapy with a diagnosis (depression, bi-polar, anxiety
disorders, etc.). Mental health information given to insurance companies
is entered into their computers and can label you with this diagnosis for
many years. Therefore, you may want to remain in control of your
therapy and treatment.
I would be more than happy to provide receipts for services provided, as
these fees may be deductible towards medical expenses on your tax
returns. Also, if after reading the above you would still like to take
advantage of your insurance benefits, you can check with your insurance
provider to see if they have a reimbursement policy. A Master Bill can be
created which you can submit to your insurance company. With this
Master Bill, many insurance companies may reimburse a percentage of
your out-of-pocket fees (20, 30, to 50+%). However, please be aware that
a insurance companies still require a diagnosis, even under
reimbursement circumstances.
* During first session you will have a chance to review the Informed Consent, a
standard document which details your rights as a patient.
Gary offers both in-office as well as off-site/corporate therapy sessions. In addition, along with the general waiting room Gary's office offers a side entrance and exit for more discerning clients.
